Brutalist

Brutalism in design is raw, unapologetic, and deliberately confrontational. Borrowed from the architectural movement that celebrated exposed concrete and honest materiality, graphic and web brutalism rejects polish in favour of bold typography, harsh contrasts, and visible structure. It is simultaneously retro and radically contemporary.

  • Raw, unpolished visual language
  • Heavy borders and harsh colour contrast
  • Exposed structural elements
  • Anti-decorative, anti-"pretty" aesthetics
  • Bold oversized typography
